Our campus located at 50 The Avenue Parkville has been closed in preparation for renovation works. While plans are underway, we have settled into our temporary location with the University of Divinity, at the St Paschal Estate in Box Hill.
The Whitley College library, known as the Geoffrey Blackburn Library, is temporarily located at this site. Our strong and comprehensive collection of books and journals, supporting all the foundational and specialist areas of theological studies offered through Whitley College.
Whitley College was established in 1891 by Collins Street Baptist Church as the Baptist Theological College of Victoria. William Thomas Whitley was invited to come to Melbourne from England to take up the position of Principal, and he remained the college Principal for the next ten years.
Whitley College is a teaching and research college within the University of Divinity. The University of Divinity is a collegiate University, offering undergraduate and postgraduate awards and providing quality education and research in the areas of divinity and associated disciplines. The University of Divinity is constituted by the University of Divinity Act 1910 of the Parliament of Victoria. The Act, most recently amended in 2016, establishes the University Council and empowers it to confer awards as a higher education provider.
