Antonella comes to Whitley with many years of experience within the library sector. She began her career at the library at World Vision Australia where she worked full time, later moving to part-time work after children arrived. She looked after the library’s serials collection and later developed an abstracting service of current journal literature for World Vision staff working in the field. Antonella also worked for many years as a casual librarian within the Monash Public Library Service. She provided customer service, managed the Book Club program at Mount Waverly library and helped develop specific services to the Italian speaking community at Clayton library.
Before joining Whitley College, Antonella was the librarian at Stirling Theological College, a former college of the University of Divinity. For over 13 years she developed the library to meet the needs of students and staff of the College. She introduced eBooks into the collection and oversaw the transfer of the library’s collection onto the UD Library Hub. Antonella is an active member of the UD Library Committee as librarian at both Stirling and Whitley Colleges, holding the position of Chair of this Committee for three years between 2021-2023.
Since joining Whitley College in 2023, she managed the reunification of items held offsite back into the main collection, and the transfer of the catalogue into the UD Library Hub making it much simpler and easier for students to find Whitley’s resources within the Hub. She continues to provide library services to staff and students at Whitley College and the wider UD. She is passionate about guiding students to get the most out of their library and fostering collaboration between the various libraries associated with the UD.
Antonella is married with two adult children. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking and has recently taken up watercolour painting.
