Whitley’s TransFormation Program thrives into a new year!

13 Mar 2025

On Saturday, March 1st, we kicked off the TransFormation Program for 2025 with our first session! Forty students gathered in person, with 11 joining us online—thanks to the support of our dedicated Diploma Tutor, Benjamin. We welcomed a mix of new and familiar students, and the joyful energy in the room was contagious as we came together to worship, learn, and grow.

A special thank you to Rachel from Essendon Baptist Community Church for her warm welcome and support in preparing the space for us. Her thoughtful hospitality made our transition into this new venue seamless and uplifting.

The day began with fun icebreaker activities that helped us share why we’re here and what we hope to achieve this year. We were also treated to a delicious lunch of Burmese food, generously provided by Benjamin’s family. The chicken soup was a highlight, and their heartfelt generosity touched everyone present.

In the afternoon, we launched our first lecture on “Doing Exegesis in Genesis”, part of our semester theme, Engaging with the Hebrew Bible. Our Diploma students also gathered to work through their assessments with a blend of excitement and nervousness. It’s truly inspiring to witness everyone’s commitment and enthusiasm to being equipped for God’s kingdom.

This year, we’re especially proud to share that our student numbers have doubled since 2023, with many students joining us from more remote locations via Zoom. This growth is a testament to the impact of TransFormation and how it’s empowering people to live out and share their faith in their cultural context.

One of the most inspiring aspects of TransFormation is seeing our students become Christian leaders—doing incredible things in the Christian world and beyond. Watching them grow and develop as leaders, equipped with a deep understanding of faith and ministry, fills us with excitement for what they will continue to accomplish. It’s a blessing to be part of their journey, and we can’t wait to see how God will continue to work through them in the year ahead!
