Mary Pope Scholarship

Study towards a PhD in Spiritual Care and Ageing

Two Hands holding

Whitley College partners with Baptcare and the University of Divinity in a strategic scholarship, named for Mary Pope, that addresses the current issues and needs of the Age Care sector in Victoria and beyond. Counselling, Chaplaincy, Spiritual Care, and theological perspectives on ageing, all fall within the scope of this scholarship programme. Whitley College and Baptcare believe that this bold, collaborative research initiative is timely and anticipates a growing interest.

This Scholarship will support a Whitley College student studying towards a PhD at the University of Divinity who is able to demonstrate that their research potentially contributes to the strategic research objectives of Baptcare and Whitley College in the area of spiritual care and ageing.

The Mary Pope Scholarship combines a Research Fee Scholarship (RFS) and a Research Stipend Scholarship (RSS), making this a very attractive program of full-time research and study for an appropriately qualified student and is particularly suited for an individual who also has leadership or management experience in the age-care sector.

Details of the scholarship, including eligibility criteria, are available by downloading a pdf flyer.

We are currently considering expressions of interest and invite enquiries from individuals considering an application by November 15th 2021 and who are able to start a full-time program from February 2022.
