On Sunday, 27 July, Whitley’s Principal, Rev. Dr. Darrell Jackson, had the joy of serving as guest preacher at Collins Street Baptist Church as the congregation celebrated an incredible 182 years of mission and ministry.
Darrell’s message, “Beyond Our Wildest Dreams” (Ephesians 3:14–21), invited the church to see themselves as the believers in Ephesus once did, standing in a unique space between a rich history of mission and a compelling future of unity in Christ.
He reflected that in our faith journeys, we often find ourselves in places already beyond our wildest dreams. Yet, the greater truth is that God’s dreams for us are wilder still, dreams rooted in love so vast that it defies our imagination. God calls us to know “the breadth and length and height and depth” of Christ’s love and to live as witnesses to it in the world.
Darrell closed with Paul’s powerful words:
“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen.”
