Whitley College is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Darrell Jackson as the Director of Research.
Darrell brings a passion for theological research oriented towards the local congregation and its public engagement, including biblical, systematic, historical, and interdisciplinary research. He has degrees from the London School of Theology, the University of Gloucestershire, and the University of Birmingham, from where he gained his ThD in 2009.
Darrell was a British Baptist pastor and served as the British Baptist Union’s national Mission Advisor for eight years. He served ecumenically with the Conference of European Churches for three years before returning to teach missiology in the UK. A full-time theological educator since 2007, he has wide experience of teaching and supervising research students. He founded and directed the Nova Research Centre at Redcliffe College, UK, and joins Whitley College from his position as the Associate Professor of Missiology, Morling College, NSW.
Darrell migrated to Australia with his wife, Beth, and their children, Kai and Karys, in 2012. Beth is the Lead Pastor at St. Ives Baptist Church, NSW. In his new role Darrell will focus on the further development of the research agenda of the College.
