Library

The Whitley College library, known as the Geoffrey Blackburn Library, is temporarily located in the Study Centre at the St. Paschal Precinct in Box Hill.  Our strong and comprehensive collection of books and journals, supporting all the foundational and specialist areas of theological studies offered through Whitley College, is located at this site. There is also limited study space available for private study and a scanner available for your scanning needs.

In early 2024, the library’s catalogue was fully integrated into the University of Divinity Library Hub.  The Library Hub continues to provide students with access to an extensive range of print and electronic resources, as well as expert assistance from library staff.  There is now only ONE place to search for your resources, from print or eBooks, the Whitley collection or other UD resources – all you need to do is apply the appropriate filter.

Special strengths of the Whitley Library include its collections in biblical studies, mission, and the Australian context, as well as the Baptist Collection (please ask the librarian for special access).

The Whitley Library can be accessed during the semester on weekdays during business hours; with the Librarian onsite on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursday mornings only.  If you are visiting outside of these hours, a key can be obtained from the UD reception desk. There are computers in the library where you can search for resources in the collection, and self-check-out is via a logbook.  You can return items to the return tubs located within the library itself and just outside the main Whitley offices.

We look forward to seeing you in the library.
